Program Note:This piece was inspired by the events at Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944… D-Day. I wanted to capture the anticipation of crossing the channel, the sudden chaotic battle on the beach, the extraordinary courage and perseverance of the soldiers, and the sadness of the great loss of life.
To these men, and to all who have sacrificed so much for others, I dedicate this piece. |
